Safe Place can export your data to a tab-delimited text file. The data in this new file will not be encrypted. You can then use this file to import your data into another database program.
All of the records currently displayed in the Password List View will be exported.
A column header record will be included with the exported file. If only one category is displayed in the list, the actual field labels will be used as column titles. If multiple category records are displayed, generic column titles ("Field 1," "Field 2," Field 3," etc.) will be used.
Carriage returns from the Notes field cannot be exported to the tab-delimited file (the format doesn't support carriage returns in the data). So during the export process, they will be converted to "\r", and any "\" characters will be converted to "\\". This process is reversed if you import the information back into Safe Place.
To export your data, select Export from the File menu. Because your data will be saved in an insecure format, you must first re-enter your password to continue. After you enter your password, a Save File dialog will appear. Specify the name and location the new file, and click Save.
